Before you read on I would like to clarify that this motor really rocks! It really exceedes any and all expectations. For one thing I had to look back to make sure that it was started when I took it out for the first time...boy are they quiet!

My E-tec only has one thing that bugs me. The hood does not close properly. The little rectangular piece of rubber that plugs the hole where the cables and wires come out of the motor does not seem to be seated in there correctly. When it is pushed in it rides a 1/4 inch high thus when the hood is placed back on it does not seat itself fully down. I tried to fiddle with it but there is not much room in there. Did anyone else counter this problem? If so how did you solve it? Just thought that there might be a simple fix thus saving me a trip to my dealer. Thanks for the help.

walleyeman I have a fifty and the hood shuts just fine. I'm gonna guess that whoever installed the motor doesn't have it in just right. btw, I agree with all your assesments. I did have one other minor glitch however, mine would not winterize this year. Dealer "remapped" the software and all is well. He had no clue as to why and had never heard of that before.

Just guessing is it possible it is in upside down, or maybe 90 degrees out or maybe backwards?
If it is designed so the cables can be removed and installed without dissassembly perhaps you could rotate it yourself.
