I have a 2007 90HP Mercury 2 stroke motor. It runs fine when wide open, but I have a 10-15 minute ride out from my marina before I can open it up. The motor runs terrible.. spits, caughs etc. On the trip back in it runs fine for a few minutes, then the plugs foul and it starts all over again. If I pull the plugs I can see a little oil on them.

As this motor has a built-in oil feed, could it be feeding too much oil?

Is that something you can set or is it fixed?

Something else maybe?

It's not a real problem, just annoying.

Thanks!

Check the oil pump timing marks at idle. It could be off and injecting too much oil into the fuel which will foul the plugs.
