Anyone install a jack plate on tracker v14 ( t-h mini jacker or bob's machine mini maual etc...)
I have a 2007 tracker standard guide v14 15" transom with long shaft 1999 f25 hp 4 stroke yamaha. Both only used a few times total while being garage kept. I would rather keep motor knowing what it is then looking for a short shaft. Couple of questions:
1) most of these small jack plate's rate for 40hp but then say 135lbs yami is 141lbs, is this o.k. ?
2) also the boltable area on inside of transom is roughly 10" ( looks like transom goes back in and then down towards last 1" or so on this one)
would any of these fit this application?
3) 2-1/2" offset would be best, but noticed the smaller plates look to be 3-1/2" to 4" offset from transom, would this be o.k.?
Again, thanks for any help in advance
Have a great day
K.C.

Re: 2007 guide v14

do not exceed what your boat is designed for. it will cause you nothing but grief. the plate ratings for mounts and transom weights mean exactly what they claim.

one other thing i would consult your local tracker service shop and see their opinion but i would be very wary of doing what you describe.
