Hi,

I was just curious if anyone has had starter issues with their Larson Cabrio. We were out over the past weekend and on our return to the marina we stopped to pull our crab nets, we killed the engine and could nto fire it again. The blower fuse kept popping and we could not start the motor.

After getting a tow in and having a mechanic look at it we were told the sterter was fried. The boat is only 4 yrs old., is this common/normal. Whats the life expectancy of the starter, what can cause it to malfunction?

What can be done if this occurs again while we are on the water? Is there a way to start her up if the starter goes?

We have ordered a kicker to be mounted on the back so we don't run into this issue again.

What engine? We have a 2007 310 with twin volvos and have not had that problem.

We did have a 1998 Bayliner 2655 that we re-powered in 2006 with an new Mercruiser 5.7 that did short out the main fuse buss once when we started the engine that resulted in a tow.
