My son purchased this Mercury and it hasn't been run in two, maybe three years. He plans to drain and clean the tank before attempting to start. I noticed the engine still has the fuel line hooked up, so I'm assuming it wasn't run dry when it was last used. What recommendations do you all have for starting this engine up? Also, should the fuel line be disconnected and engine run dry after each use if not going to be used for a while? I've never dealt with a 4 stroke or EFI so I'm open to your thoughts and experiences.
