I left my outboard at my fathers for many years and it was left outside. Went to pull start it and it was frozen. My father later Put oil in the cylinders, per a mechanic, to free it up and it did. Could get it it crank and run only if i kept pressing the fuel bulb to add more gas. On a whim i bought a new fuel pump after cleaning out the old one a still couldnt get it to run. I now can get it to run, but seems somewhat rough and so far only at higher throttle. Gets smoother at higher throttle i think. Did not get it to idle, but ran it about 10 minutes. Doing things backwards, i did a COLD compression test the next day and only got 50psi on both cylinders, assuming i did it properly. I would not have thought both cylinders would be bad as this engine has less than 50 hours. I know my dad cleaned out the carb a while back, but i have not looked at it. So the question is, 50psi cold seems like a shot motor???? and if not shot, what other things can i look at as to why it wont idle?
