Need help. I just bought a 2007 Aqua Patio with a 2007 Yamaha F115. I love the boat, motor is very strong and solid (I think). Not knowing the full service history of the motor I took to the maintenance myself, basics that is. Changed the lower unit oil, change motor oil, fuel filter, spark plugs, water pump, and water separator. All factory spec materials from the Yamaha Dealer (YamahaLub). I also changed out the prop to an aluminum 4 blade with a compression hub (not built in). Prior to doing this the motor idled good, and ran very well. After my maintenance the motor developed a ticking sound when in gear and runs rough at slow speed, good in idle, and top speed very good. The ticking sound is easy to hear and increases frequency (speeds up) as the motor accelerates. Imagine a baseball card hitting the spokes of a bicycle, the sound is very similar. Any suggestion would be great. Very frustrated and would like to avoid having to take it to the shop.
