Hi guys,

I have a 08 Lowe FS 175 with a wonderful 115 Optimax. Being a tinkerer and modifier, is there any way to get a few more ponies out of this motor? I know it is the largest displacement of the type.

I am currently getting about 44-45 mph gps from a 18 pitch Silverado (empty and low fuel). This is at about 5500 rpms. I have tried a 17 pitch prop, but it seems my rpms go up but the speed goes down.

Any mods out there to pump it up? I love the set up but upper 40's with a light load would be too cool.

Thanks,

Re: 2008 115 Optimax

I know this a bit outdated, but I couldn't resist to reply to this......

My 90HP Optimax really saw a good 1-2 MPH upgrade when I switched from an Aluminum to Stainless Steel performance prop. Worth every penny. My 17-foot Deep-V will hit 42MPH (GPS) empty of gear, and very low on gas. I also added a Sport SE whale tail to get a bit more stability and hence MORE SPEED.......
