I removed my sea water pump as the shaft had come out the front of the pump and threw the belt. Tore it apart and the bearings were bad but the impeller wasn't that bad. I however found a rubber tube/hose attached to the top of the winterizing chamber (guess) but I am not sure what the other end connects to??? Pump is not easy to access as its in a Pontoon so I want to get it fixed for reliability sake.

Mercruiser Part number of original pump is # 46-862914T12

Also I am considering the Hardin upgrade on the front half of the pump, any experience?

Thanks in advance!!

you can rebuild your existing pump.

none of the pumps are easy to get to. impellers / raw water pumps are a maintenance item. how long has it been since your pump was serviced?

The issues some folks have experienced with the Gen 7 pump is the wear plate. Many need to be replaced when doing the impeller replacement. Issue that happens most often is pump failure to prime.

As for the Hardin pump housing, it was made to use the old Gen 4/5 impeller. There is slight differences between the two impellers and some have installed the wrong impeller.

Yes the tube is used to move the valve in the sea pump by an air pump during winterization. Do you have the 3 of 7 point drain system? Also have a serial number?
