I started my new motor for the first time today. I had a hose connected to the motor and it started first touch of the key. But I did not see any water coming out of the pee hole. Is this normal when connected to a hose? Do I need to submerge the leg to see it pee?;)

Nope - I just ran my 2008 Merc 90 EFI today on the garden hose with a set of muffs and it peed. It took it awhile though - it ran for about 30 seconds before the pee hole started to squirt water.

I wasn't using muffs. I was connecting to the threaded inlet on the engine. The manual says to connect the hose on there to flush the engine. I asked the dealer about it today and he told me that is also where the water pees out when running on muffs or with the leg submerged. Then I wonder what the hole below the threaded fitting is for. I tried using a muck bucket but still don't see anything come out of the telltale, not deep enough. I guess I will have to get a new set of muffs the ones I had for my Force don't fit. I guess I could go to the boat launch...Hummm if everything works ok I just might have to take it for a run:D
