2008 Lxi 208

Bought a New Left over LXI 208 with the Volvo GXI 5.0 with 270HP. Boat runs and rides like a dream. Very pleased with the handling of this boat. Took a short trip to a Lake Chatuge In NGA Mountains today leaves were turning and it was a great day on the water. May be the last of the year. We will winterize and store until next May. Going to be hard to go 7 months!
Hoping for an early spring in 2010!

Congrats. I purchased a 2008 LXI 228 in June and loved it. Has the Volvo 5.7 GXI motor as well. So far so good. No problems and just had it winterized last weekend. This is my first boat and I couldn't be happier. Thinking of installing some led lights over the winter to spice it up for next year. Hopefully winter will go by fast so we can all get back out on the water.

Congratulations JimMH, haven't started modifying mine yet, busy with home imporvement, but I was only able to use it about a dozen times this year due to poor weather. You will absolutely fall in love with this boat and will always wonder if it is running because it is so quit. Congratulations again.

Thanks guys. Just wondering why there aren't any larson owner clubs around. With a company that has been making boats for 95 years seems there would be. I will post pictures as soon as this old man figures out how to downsized pictures! I will have to get my teenager to help me.

Jim I couldn't agree with you more. I have a 2008 228 LXI. I towed it all around northern IL. last year mostly to lake Geneva WI. but did a long trip down to Kentucky lake for the 4th an awesome trip! I do really like my new boat and honestly can say that I don't see to many of them around here. I would love to see something put together for poker runs or just talking face to face with other owners to get some tips.
Spring cant come fast enough and here's hoping for a better summer than the last!

For the second year in a row we got snow in GA the first week of March. What is happening and don't tell me Global Warming as the scientific community is split on this. Now the Weatherman said we were going to be in the 60's this weekend. My family and I are ready for spring to get here so we can hit the lakes.

I agree that there needs to be a Larson Owners club formed if there isn't one already out there. With Irwin Jacobs acquistion of Larson in the Bankruptcy sale I wonder if the company would be willing to help facilitate the forming of the club? There are a lot of us out there we just need to get to know each other.

Marinebucaro: My wife is from a little town called Mountain, WI I have only been there once as her family moved south when she was in High School. Lots of small lakes in that area. I believe it is west of Green Bay about 1 hr.

Yeah I'd be all for a club!! I also have an 08 lxi 228. I've got a season and a half on it and have been really happy with it. Def. glad I spent the extra $$ on all the bells and whistles. Love the capt. call, the extra power from the 350 mag and it coupled with the bravo 3 is amazing!! Last summer did a huge upgrade to the stereo which when it comes to raft ups has been priceless and also installed LED lighting under the side compartments and both dashes with contolers that I can change the light colors and even make them flash to the music.

Def. can't say I haven't had any problems with it tho...Several little things. After the first half season I owned it (bought it new) I pulled it out of storage and was messing around in the engine compartement and had found that one of my starter mounting bolts had fallen out. Got that all taken care of and then mid season I blew one of the exhaust manifold gaskets and not even a month later the other one went out (both were installed inproperly) Then while winterizing it last fall the shop noticed that one of the seals in the cartridge fuel filter assembly was never installed!!! Like I said i've had several lil things go wrong but I really can't say that it was anything to do with Larson since I'd've bought any boat with that same motor/drive combo.

Its a great lil boat tho!! Rides and handles like a dream!!

the Captn's call is very nice. I didn't get it as My boat was a deal and half because of past the model year and the dealer was trying to get rid of the last two 08 boats he had. This is the busy time of year for my business but I will be able to do some work on the Larson Owners Club in April. I think this could build into something big! That 228 is a nice ride!!

Yeah I love it...It was a similar deal with mine...boutght it mid year in 08...A dealer had ordered it and backed out of the deal so a local dealer got a smoking deal on it and priced it as such to make a quick sale. They had just got it in and pulled it out of storage for me it hadn't even been unrapped yet.
