Hello all,

new to this site and first post. I'm working on a 2009 9.9 4 stroke that wont run. Appears to be fuel related. So far, carb was rebuilt 2 years ago, plugs last year and just replaced fuel line and primer bulb from tank to motor. Ran fine a month ago and now it ran for maybe 2 minutes choke on and that was it, now it will not start at all. Primer bulb gets firm but feels spongy still. There is gas in the filter but from there can't tell. I'm suspecting fuel pump or a mother carb rebuild? Any suggestions would be great!

Welcome to Iboats,

If that's a rebadged Tohatsu similar to their 9.9 model, the post should be moved to the Tohatsu site for Paul to address that situation. He's one of the 4 strokes gurus there...

Happy Boating

Appreciate the response. I have no idea if it is. How would one go about finding out if it is.

Please forgive me for even asking....I’m sure it’s not the case at all...but is the vent open on the fuel tank ?

Yes the vent is open...so update on this thing, new fuel pump, filter, fuel lines. Pulled and cleaned carb. Motor now only runs on choke or high throttle. Bulb does not hold pressure either.
