200 hp loop charged, recent lack power and voltage problem. Followed manual but stumped, Stator was burned, replaced it, still no charge voltage, replaced reg/rect and power pack, now still have minimum power (starts/runs) with ignition (by time light) to only port bank. Stbd bank indicates no spark voltage. Testing resistance from sensor coil and get strange readings (like open). I have a PRV meter but not the one referred in the book (clymer). Am I missing something basic? The ignition on only one side would seem significant. The stator and Rect/Reg were bad for real reasons, not sure the power pack was bad and am now going for the sensor coil?

Check the shift switch. If the shift switch is shorted or the wires grounded, or connected incorrectly the stb cylinders will not have a spark. There is an OMC service bulletin with instructions for checking the timer, same as clymer manual isbn 0-89287-713-8 page 109/110.

Thanks Clanton. Thge shift swaich is OK, checked that earlier but will do it again. Timer may be problem source.
