I am looking at buying my neighbors 2011 Bass Buggy. It is very vanilla, no trolling motor, no stereo, small fish finder (don't know what brand, will find out sunday when we take it out).

I am getting a good deal and can spend a couple of thousand to outfit her. My main fishing will be black bass in south TX.

I plan to add a 24v trolling motor, a stereo, and a second fish finder up front. Some questions:

1. Anything else I should do from a customization standpoint? I plan to keep this boat for years.

2. If I want to run wiring from back to front, do I just staple it to the bottom of the deck? How about running conduit under the deck?

3. I am trying to decide if I will pay the local boat shop to install the trolling motor or if I should do it myself. Boat shop says they will charge $300+ for labor on top of the cost of the trolling motor.

4. The existing fish finder has transducer at the back of the pontoon. Should I add a sidefinder up front? Any opinions on trolling motors with built in transducers? Any opinions on specific brands of fishfinders?

I am sure I will have many more questions. Looking forward to your advice.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your purchase, you will have years of good memories.

Furniture:

Some people like the full furniture thing.....

Some like sparse furniture like lawn chairs and table, or marine beanbags.....
...or just fishing seats.

Bimini top.

Trolling motor & jack plate......install that yourself.

Ladder....

Cover....

Rod holders.....

Plastic conduit.....the loom kind so water will drip out. Use stainless staples.

Have fun outfitting your toon!

Run the wiring, conduit, clips, or whatever, over the top of the pontoons to prevent any chance they'll come into contact with a trailer at some point!

Thanks. I went down to bass pro shops today and spent an hour crawling around the floor model. Definitely looks like a diy job.
