2011 f250uca sounds like 2 stroke

bought the boat with motor. motor has over 2000 hours but powerhead was replaced a few years ago. dropped lower unit and exhaust looks clean. When the motor is running it is extremely loud like a 2 stroke. Never heard a 4 stroke that sounds like this. It is definitely coming from the exhaust. No tapping, knocking or winding. Sounds like a muffler was removed from a car

I did a water test to see if water was coming through the dry exhaust and it wasn't.

This may not be your problem but there were some motors that had exhaust corrosion issues. You may want to research this, it couldn't hurt.

I don't think that is the issue with mine. That is why I did the water test. I guess I would have to get it scoped to be 100%
