Hoping for help finding a service bulletin or an indication of what the work involved. Merc - 2012-02 for oil gasket between power head and mid section.
Local dealer performed the work before motor put away for winter. About to use motor again, removed cowling to reposition it (was a gap) and saw rounded bolts holding powerhead onto midsection - up from midsection into powerhead (standard sockets on metric threads?). Dealer that did the work now out of business (the boat centre in horsehoe bay) so went to other dealer who had a look...
Apparently fix not show on Merc Net as my serial was 78 units out of the range so work was never entered (mech did put purple paint mark on block to show work was done). Merc. will provide replacement bolts but wont do the work... Main concern now is that if the mech was in such a rush that rounding bolts not a problem then what else should I be worried about / have a look at.
Have searched forum and made an attempt through google but apparently not my forte.
