Definetly king of rough water. Mid to high 50's for speed, and massive amounts of storage. Naturally aspirated engine w/ less worries and maint. than supercharged skis. Not meant to be "playful" ie: wave jumping, spinout ski, but excellent cruiser that easily pulls all water toys. Good luck !!!

P.S.- Stay away from those Yamaha FX-HO guys, they'll eat your lunch !!!

Re: 2012 Kawasaki Ultra LX Question

I am certainly not buying a ski to be the fastest guy on the river. With that said, I have also been looking at the Yamaha VXR which is also a great machine for the price and bit faster than the Ulta LX.

What I am looking for is a nice, stable, reliable ski that is capable of pulling tubes, has some storage, and something that my girls can operate w/o being overly intimited.

What sucks is that it seems impossible to be able to make this decision w/o being able to ride any first. Ideally, I would love to be able to ride 2 to 4 different models and actually get a water test.

We currently own a 1200 SUV. What we love about it is also a distractor. It is the largest, most stable machine on the water and yet can still make 50 to 53 mph. While not breaking any speed records, its not bad. To me, the Ultra LX would give us a lot of the same stability, but should be a bit more nimble and quicker.
