I would like to share with everybody , I purchased this outboard on June 14,2014 just celebrated its 4th birthday. has a 5yr. gold mpp warranty .the fsm float switch went out. Cost 450.00 to have replaced by dealer. not covered by mercury. info through dealer that there has been 6 revisions on this switch since 2014 so it is a known issue with mercury they still wont budge , I told them I was disappointed in the way it was handled for which he really didn't care. such a shame after paying right at 14,000.00 for it. so I am know venting. please be aware this is a known bad part and mercury is still making money off it.

Exactly the same issue here, but with a new 2017 150HP motor. Fuel delivery module failure, because of the low pressure side float. The boat is at the shop, and will sit there for a good portion of the summer, as Mercury has no fuel module's available. Apparently, they all have problems. They "Might" start shipping some new (probably still faulty) modules at the end of June, but no guarantee.

It had better be fixed under the warranty, otherwise they can keep that piece of trash motor.

The problem developed gradually at about 30 hours, and soon became unable to do anything but barely idle.

I wonder how long it will be before all those new Tracker boats with the merc 40's will start breaking down. They sold thousands of them this winter.
