I just did an oil, filter, and gear oil change on my motor. No water in the oil or lower unit. No metal shavings in the pan after I drained it. Also, found a crack in the hose fittings in the fuel line so I replaced those. Once I got done I hooked up the "ear muffs" to test run the motor. This is the first time Ive ever run this motor with the muffs. Water flowed through and pumped out strong with the motor running. However, I noticed water leaking out from a different area that I had never noticed before. It may very well have been doing this from day 1 without my knowledge. It is leaking out from under the lower portion of the cowl where the leg goes in to the cowl. I have attached a picture indicated the area the water is coming from. Does anyone know if this is supposed to happen? I had heard that water cools the block and then goes out the "pisser" but there are other passages for the water that cools exhaust and other portions. It is still under warranty but I'd rather not deal with the shop if I don't have to, especially if this is normal behavior for the motor.
