I dropped my LU to replace water pump and service. Put in fwd before I disassembled and all went fine. Unit went right back together with no force. But...can’t shift out of fwd. Dropped the LU again and after many tries I left the LU off for some more tests. I disconnected the shifter cable and The shifter is smooth as glass. The LU is smooth but my issue is with the slides between the cable and shift shaft. With pliers it’s very difficult to slide the shifter. Have serviced multiple over the years and never had a problem. Ideas?
