2017 Mercury 60 4 stroke command thrust-- Cowl not latching

Checked all over the internet and I think I may be the only one with the rear cowl latch not locking. Seems like its not engaging or traveling down far enough to lock. Anyone have any ideas or fixes?

Take a picture. It's either not sitting correctly or there is a hose or wire in the way, not letting it sit down all the way. Does it look like its sitting all the way down? I imagine it was on the motor correctly before you took it off? I honestly think you are just not lining it up or placing it on the motor correctly.

If it is anything at all like my old merc, it will have some (4?) male contacts on the motor and 4? female receptacles on the hood. put a little Vaseline or grease on those and try to fit the cowl back on. I have no clear picture of what you are dealing with. Just trying to be helpful after having some problems with mine.
