Found a lightly used 2019 Mercury posted up on the web from a dealership. My question is I have a 19 ft console with 1996 mercury 115 hp offshore. Is there a big difference on weight. Is this a good deal will I gain performance or lose it. The boat shop told me 6900 they will swap engine to my hull. Thanks in advance people.

Amazing engines. I have one. Especially if it’s the command thrust model. Should say on it if it is on the rear.
I have a deep v 19ft cuddy with one. I turn a 20” enertia prop to about 6150 rpm at just over 44mph gps. Definitely more power than the badge for sure. They weigh less than a 125 2/ optimax at about 165kgs.

only thing I’ve noticed in that picture is that it looks to have a longer shaft than usual perhaps.

They did a comparison test between this and the 125 optimax not long ago. Same boat and well pitched props on both. The smaller 115 CT ran faster and quicker out the hole every time. Slightly better on fuel too.
That seems a good price as well. Would be twice that new. Make sure it’s a command thrust though. Can run the larger serious props if it is.

I’d say that’s defo an extra long shaft. Has an extra plate over mine.
