Hey guys, first post here but hopefully someone can add their input. I recently picked up an '03 2020 CC. The boat is in great shape but the cushions have been neglected to the point they all need to be replaced. In addition to that it didn't have any rear seating behind the leaning post, so we're wanting to add the original seating back there.
This is where the decision comes in.
Option 1:
The normal option is a bench that should seat 2 people, same width as the leaning post. Pros: cheaper, in the center of the boat so you'll never have a single person in one corner throwing off the balance, and easy access to the swim ladder or bait well. Cons: basically no view for those passengers other than of my backside, possible lack of legroom with a cooler under the leaning post.
Option 2:
Sometime in the recent past Key West introduced the deluxe transom seat, which is a bench that stretches across the full width of the boat. It looks really nice and a much more comfortable option, but has its own drawbacks. Pros: more comfortable, better view for those who do choose to sit in the corners, possibly even enough room to lay down if one were so inclined. Cons: it's the full width of the boat. Have to climb over it to access the swim platform/ladder, plus it has seatbacks that surely must interfere somehow with the live well hatch on that side.
I attached a couple pictures showing the two options, though the only picture I can find of the deluxe bench is this terrible overhead that shows the layout.
In reality I would love to find two boats side by side with each option and probably spend a whopping 45 seconds coming to a decision, but that's not happening. So I thought maybe someone here has one or the other and could share their opinions. Thanks!
