208 LXI Transom Rinsing Shower Problem

I bought a used 2006 Larson 208 LXI a month ago and have only gotten the transom rinsing shower back on the ski platform to work twice. I've traced wires under the dash, disconnected hoses, etc and nothing. The other day, I flipped the pump switch on in the garage and heard the pump come on. I went to the lake the next day and it worked! A few hours later, nothing. Has anyone had this problem and if you did, what did you do to correct it?

Problem almost resolved. I checked to see if I had power at the pump and I did. When you're looking at the pump, the black and red wire go under the pump and then two red wires appear and go up to the right side of the pump. I tapped that connection point with a wrench and the pump came on and then went back off after a few seconds. I tapped it again and the same thing happened. I tapped it a little harder and now it works with no problems. I wonder if there is a float there or is there a electrical connection that I am making work?
