20hp kicker too big ?

is it for my 21' cabin crusier 1800 lbs hull...thanks also can the brackets they sell support a 20hp two stroke

Yes there are brackets rated for motors that size. Do you know what shaft length the motor is? High thrust 9.9 four strokes do an excellant job for that application.

its a long shaft older merc 20hp...I'll look into the 4 strokes

BigKash<br />No 20 hp is not too big. I have a 21 foot Aluminum Runabout that weights 2800 LB dry that I use a 15 Hp with a high thrust prop. When I replace this 1975 motor going to at least 20hp. Currently like the 20HP 4 stroke Honda that just came out and weighs 103 Lb. Keep in mind the brakets are over rated but several for 169 lb or more. Is the weight you gave for a outboard without the motor?? Just seem too light for a 21 foot cabin boat.

thanks, i got that 1800lbs from the brochure. its a 1971 stamas v21, it say 1800lbs thats probally without motor fuel or anything, the big outboard motor is a merc 200hp. 400lbs
