Just heading back into iboats from a year or so sabbatical ...I dove head first into a new acquisition - 21 ft Islander 140 I/O Merc.1974 and a spare drive train (just in case) 1974 Aristocraft 19 140 I/O Merc. After spending a few hours on iboats reading about a CC conversion i`m definitely hooked again....I plan on taking the Aristocraft apart. then (I hate to say it) filing her ... She does seem to be in somewhat good shape but only so much room in driveway and the wife factor seems to prevail over this area...lol... I went Lady Ga Ga over the (almost finished ) CC conversion in earlier posts...(sad to see it abruptly end , would have been a beautiful project) Hats off to the fellow who did this conversion ...I would like to do what he has started with your help...I am limited in body and paint , somewhat fair in fabrication (I do have the tools)...I will try to post some pics. of the Islander and the donor Aristocraft...

Welcome back. Oh no....chopping the top off an Islander. No offense, but I surely do love cabin style boats and seeing SC doesn't make them any more they will become a thing of the past. But I would like to ask what prop (size & pitch) do you have on the Islander? I have the 140 I/O on my Chief project and considering options on reprop.

Good luck with your conversion.

I run a 3 blade 19 pitch alum on my 21 chief. WOT rpms are right at 4,600. I think a 21 would be too much and any thing less would be too little.
I had a 4 blade adjustable prop on the boat and did not have the top end speed that the 19 3blade provides.
