Wow. Nice work. Those gunwales are the real deal. :) I like the shape of the hull. It reminds me of the old dory style oyster boats used in North Florida. It should get on plane pretty quick. I like the center console too. Standing up while driving the boat really makes you feel like the captain. :D Keep the pics coming.

Haven't got paint completely figured out yet. Gelcoat would be nice but too much sanding. Also not sure if I'm going to try to do the whole bottom or just the first few where the bow curves up and you can see the bottom.

There's no way I can flip it over now to get to the whole bottom and I'm a little leery of propping it up on one side and getting under it. I probably should have done the outside first.

I think that its great!! One thing though that breaks my heart is that you are not going to glass the stringers. I know that they are PT but they should still be glassed to the hull. I just think that you have done too much work on this boat to not do it. Its your call though and eather way its a really pretty and rugged boat at the same time. As stated above it should plane out nicely. What kind of power are you thinking about putting on there?

if your talking about re finishing the outside.....it would be a dream to flip it over and have everything at optimum height for farring......but we dont live in a perfect world......

most repairs to the bottom are done on stands....check to local boat yard to see if you can rent any.......

btw...nice job......dont ya love it when you get close?

and what does the wife think now??? ;)

cheers

Re: 22' Stoner CC Rebuild Pics

drewmitch44, I probably wasn't clear in my description and the pics didn't show it bu the stringers are all glassed into the hull. I use 1 layer of mat, then woven then mat again. I went up 6"+ onto the stringer and about the same out onto the bottom, all the way along each stringer. The rest of the stringer is exposed wood though. But so is the bottom of the deck.

I thought about blocking it up 4 ft or so off the ground but it would be tough duty doing that whole flat bottom upside down.

I've got a 175 hp Merc for it.

Wife is starting to come around. Just starting though.
