Have a 1998 mercury 225 efi motor was rebuilt less than 10 hours ago. At idle only in gear it sneezes once in a while . Any suggestions on what could cause this problem . Thanks
Check the fitting and vacuum hose between the intake and the ECU for any restriction such as a drop of oil, doesn't let the ECU sense the change in vacuum from idle in neutral to in gear, stays too lean and sneezes.
I looked for a vacume hose between fuel pump and ecu I do not see one the only one that I can see is running to the map sensor is this the one you are talking about.
