Two questions abotu my Johnson 225 (I'm trying to eliminate a misfire):
One, is there a way to test my flywheel to see if the magnets are working? They all look good (inner and outer magnets).
2nd, will a 1998 style flywheel work on a 1997 engine? They have different timing marks on the hub BUT my 1992 engine which is supposed to have the same flywheel as the 1997 was running this 1988 flywheel... it started hard but ran okay.
My 1997 starts easily but has a misfire at all speeds, and at high speed the engine "kicks" occasionally.
