225 Johnson High output Seahorse problems

2000 225 Johnson High output Seahorse cranks,idles and revs up great! But will not plane off, have thick oily sludge running out exhaust. It sat up for about 2 yrs. I've replaced fuel,oil, fuel lines, bulbs and cleaned gunk out of carbs still not performing.

Have you checked for spark on all 6 cylinders?

Use a clip on timing lite and watch each plug to make sure its firing while the motor is trying to accelerate.

There is a shift interupter switch that cuts out 3 cylinders when shifting out of gear. If it is bad or stickin ON, you may only be running on one side of the motor, and that could explain the oily sludge.
