225 Johnsons stall at idle

This might get confusing so bear with me. I'm losing patience at this point.

I don't have a manual and taking it a mechanic to let him go at it is not an option right now.

Twin 99 225 Carb'd stock Ocean-Pro's on a 24' Center console. I've had it few months.

1..Got the boat and both engines start right up. Prime bulbs, turn key and push in and woomph, they are alive. They idle fine. They run out fine. 6k rpms. They burn the same oil and feed from the same tank.

2..The issues comes when they are warm. At idle(neutral) they die/stall. They simply shut off. Not key off fast but quick enough that they don't really stumble or sputter. Hit the key, they fire right back up and idle. They do this everytime. Any amount of throttle, they run indefinitely.

3..The last two weeks, the port engine has been giving me a hard cold start. Seems to me, it's flooding. It takes pushing the throttle full forward and spinning it up when it starts. This might take a few times. Starboard engine, starts right up everytime. Still stalls when warm and idling.

Both bulbs get hard in a few squeezes.

I did take the port carbs off and look at them, they where spotless clean. I cleaned them out regardless but did not put a carb kit in them(didn't have any). It fired right up on the hose and idled smoothly. While this might have been the solution, I highly doubt it. It's cranked up fine on the hose and then did the hard start on the water.

I run racor sight glass filters and separate clear glass filters prior to the engine. Both are always clean. Fresh 87 octane with stabil each time out. Boat sits on the trailer.

Thx for any help.

Here is a pic of the gap between the spark advance cam and the throttle linkage, it's 2/16" on both engines. I was under the impression these are supposed to be touching at idle.

This pic was in N and engine off. It takes putting the engine in gear and then a little more throttle for the roller to contact the cam.
