I have a 95 225 and thinking about removing enjector pump and mixing oil. Can pump be removed from outside/ then remove gear? My thoughts are if the gears are still in powerhead and pump locks up pieces of the gear may chew up bearings etc. I assume I would plug the oil presuration check valve hole with bolt. <br />Any advice?

Re: 225 oil pump removal

I would check the oil pump bushing, better yet replace it, along with the check valve for the oil line(where it meets the fuel) and keep the oil injection working. Those later engines(1994 and later) had fair success(compared to premix)
