Over the past 14 years, my poor ole girl has been run aground and beached many many times. Sometime on purpose, to get out on a beach and enjoy the day, and sometimes not so on purpose. Sandbars and unmarked shoals riddle the waters that I call MY Stomping grounds. It took many years to learn where not to be when the tide is running out before I could say that I had the river mastered.Over those years of trial and error, my pride and joy took some pretty good shots to her hull. I have noticed that along the very bottom of the V, glass is showing. The gell coat has been scrapped away and now there is a one inch wide strip of bare glass running about 10 ft. down the bottom of the hull. I am taking on NO water, and everything still feels VERY solid. I just want to know the best way to repair it in the fall. Should I re-gel coat it? or should I just load it up with marine tex appoxy resin and sand it down to shape and repaint it with bottom paint? Any other suggestions?
