23 hp Evinrude.

Did Evinrude make a 23 hp motor. I have found one on Craigslist, and it confused me, as I didn't think they made one. The listing didn't have much info at all. I thought maybe that it was a 25 w/o the VRO, making it a 23 spl, but the lowest made was 28 spl as far as I know. Is there a 23 hp, or has this seller just screwed up a listing?

I can't find a 23. In the last half century, they have made 25, 28, 30, and 33. Going back beyond that, they made some other flavors, but no 23.

That is what I thought, but since he listed as a 23 three times, I thought maybe I was missing something. Thanks yall.

I had a great trip. 12 days, and more than 100 miles backpacking in the New Mexico mountains. It was tough, but well worth it.
Leaving again next week to go on Vacation just outside of Boone NC. Plan to do quite a bit of bass and trout fishing. Yesterday I was checking the Boone Craigslist, when I saw the ad for the Carolina Skiff and 23 horse Evinrude. Hadn't heard of a 23 horse, so I though I would check it out.

The plot thickens. We called the guy, and it turns out he is spending the weekend just a couple of miles from here even though he lives in Boone. The "Carolina Skiff" is an all wood boat he says. Carolina Skiff didn't make a wood boat. Probably a skiff style. Since we are gonna be in Boone next week, we are gonna check it out. He says the motor is newer than the boat, but is a 23. We are thinking it might be a 28 spl, and the 8 wore into a 3. We are hoping so, as he is asking 350 for the boat/motor/trailer, so it wouldn't be a bad deal if we could get a 28 spl for less than 150 bucks.
