230A/SP Bellows Replacement

I going to need to replace my drive bellows and maybe associated items. It appears that I may be able to do this by removing only the upper gear housing.

I'm looking for some comments from anyone who is familiar with this as to difficulty and special tools that are really necessary and reference materials that were useful. I have the manual thanks to another thread.

Go to the adults only section at the top of this forum and download the manual you need. In it you will find all the procedures for your engine and drive.

Might want to look again, there is nothing in the adults only section on Volvos.

Pulling the upper gear box and changing the bellows is the only way to do it easily. Pulling the whole drive is a waste of time, and it will take a long time.
I usually spend between an hour and an hour and a half to pull the top gear box, replace the bellows, change gear lube in the drive, and having it ready for the water again.
Here is the process. It's not in the manual to do it this way. But is how it's done by the pros.
