I just bought a 26 foot campion toba the motor runs great, but on my first run it heated up to about 190.
so I powered down and it went down to 170. was wondering where to start looking for the problem.
the leg is supposed to be rebuilt looked great when i was buying the boat.

In any overheating situation, but especially with a heat exchanger I would suspect the impeller in the outdrive waterpump.

Just pull the drive and replace it. what you describe is usually a weak/failed impeller

Also pull the heat exchanger end caps and clean out the tubes

Darn I just launched it to, thank you guys for the help.

Any new to you boat should get a full maintenance treatment:
Raw water pump
Gimble bearing
Alignment
Bellows
Gear oil
Engine oil and filter
Fuel filter
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor

That way you know where youre at in the maintenance schedule
