Make sure the floor is solid and the transom is strong .If a Formula has been reasonably taken care of it is a great hull.formula is one of ,if not the best built boat there is.If it is a in out make sure all the stuff like the manifolds and risers are in good shape .they need to be replaced or inspected every 4 or 5 years cause if they are rotten water will get in the cylinders.Ask questions ,lots of them.everything you can find out about a boats mechanical history is to your advantage.If you are not sure about something ,take the boat to a reputable marine mechanic to be checked out.It is well worth the 50 or 100 dollars to have it checked out than to be sorry later.I just replaced the maanifolds and risers on the formula i just bought and got lucky that the motor was not hurt from all the water it drank.
