24 volt battery hookup help please

Just bought a used boat and am trying to hook up a 24 volt trolling motor. The bow plug in is a 4 prong marinco plug. There is also a toggle switch in the bow labeled 1 battery or 2. In the battery compartment there are 2 red wires and two black wires. One red wire and one black wire are labeled with the number 2. Can someone tell me how I hook up these wires to the two batteries?

IF it's a Marinco 12/24 setup the pair of wires go to each battery, unlabeled pair to the first battery and labeled "2" wires go to the second battery. The Marinco 12/24 socket is wired as 2 separate batteries at the socket, then when you insert the internally jumpered plug, it makes the series connection to give you 24V. The plug needs to be jumpered correctly and you have to choose the correct holes to insert the trolling motor's + and - wires. There should be instructions with the plug and socket, or go to Marinco's website.
