Hello,
I'm trying to help out a friend with his boat and I'm wondering if anyone has a similar boat with the AQ271c 5.7. His throttle linkage to the carb just doesn't look right to me so I'm hopeful someone of you can share a picture of yours.

I know it's simple, but his is just strange.

thanks

It's a Holley 715 cfm carb with a custom spec'd VP arm on the carb looks like a 3/4 x 3/4 chunk of brass that the throttle cable goes thru

The throttle return spring goes from just below the block to the throttle bracket on the manifold

only pic I have of original setup is when I was pulling the motor the first time before I swapped cam and heads to vortec

so the yellow arrow is pointing to the type 33 throttle cable (disconnected in the photo).
the green arrow is the block on the holley carb

the blue line shows where the cable went from the circuit breaker/coil/throttle anchor bracket to the block on the carb.

second photo is same carb on the big block showing the same throttle cable connected (different anchoring bracket)

Thank you,
his doesn't have the brass block, he has some little cinchy round setscrew looking device with only a nut on one side that doesn't pull back when throttling down. Yours appears to have a not on both sides of the brass block correct?

Thank again
