These are performance boats. Light for speed and deep V for jumping waves. If you just want to cruise around a more modest boat might be easier to live with. In FL you should find lots of CCs for this - Boston Whaler, Edgewater, Grady-White, Key West, McKee, Pursuit, Sailfish, Scout, Sea Hunt, Wellcraft and so forth.

Kelly Cook

never heard of them ;) with the factory being 30 minutes away and friends working there. i can say they build one hell of a boat. good rough water boat.. still run at a moderate speed through 3's and 4's. 2X 150 should move you right along :)

I have a Baja 180 Islander with a 5.7 merc.

Sure, it's not the same size as what you're looking at, but I can say that the boat is well made and hauls a##.

Well, we did it. We bought the 25 ft Baja. We went out on Sea Trial last week and it is was great. A very nice ride and a lot of power. We were looking more for the 2 big biminis for shade, lots of storage space and a smooth ride. We pretty much have found it. (for now, ultimately we would like a power cat but we will practice on this one first). Thanks to all of you for your advice. hopefully we can pick it up before the next hurricane runs through.
