Motor suddenly started running on one cylinder and inspection of plugs showed top end plug was crushed from .030 to nothing (j4c's ). Put two spacers on the top plug and snugged it up and it ran fine in a bucket. Question: Am I asking for trouble using this motor? Is my needle bearing done and need a total overhaul or can I run her and keep an eye and ear on things? Has anyone done this and how long did it last? Don't hold back.
Any input appreciated.

Do Not run it!!!!! Or you may find a connecting rod sticking through the crankcase. Something is busted inside. It will get worse---very quickly---to the point of un-repairable.

Thanks F_R , so start taking it apart an look for a clearly broken, warn part? Using a manual (not clymers) of course. Or just give up and find another only paid 300 for it and consider it a parts motor?

If you can get another for $300 I would use it as a parts motor myself. But you can always do a full rebuild and basically have a new motor. But of course it may be cheaper to get a different motor.... But the history of said motor will be unknown...
