I'm building a 35 HP from a 25 HP with a bad lower unit and a 35 leg and l/u I had in the shop. I noticed that the OEM gasket between the intake manifold and reed plate covers more than 1/8" of the outher diameter of the opening in reed plate. Cant be good, can it. I compared it to the old gasket and found the same there. I guess, more air means more power, right ? So I cut the excessive away. Has anyone else experienced this ?
