Is it OK to leave the choke [ 91-- 25 hp ] in the manual position all the time ? I can pump up the fiel bulb tight and the motor will ususaly start on the first crank befor the starter drops out of the flywheel. this way I don't need to take motor cover off and put back on after starting .....
bob

Bob,
Doesnt the primer {choke}work electricaly when you push the key switch in ?.anyway if you leave it in manual pos. it will put a lot of fuel in the reed area and flood out your motor.
good luck

Running the engine with the primer solenoid lever turned to the manual position is the same as running the engine with the choke constantly closed. Not as good idea!

Re: 25 HP Evinrude choke

thanks
the reason for the question was the starter won't stay engaged to pull the fuel up using the choke the right way , so the only way to start motor is to take bonnet off and prime the motor
bob
