Hi,
I have a 1997 25 hp 2 stroke merc and I recently took it out for the first time this year and it was idling way too fast. turns out the fast idle knob was turned all the way clockwise, I turned it back in all the way counterclockwise on the next trip and it seemed to idle fine. However after running it full out to our destination for about 15 mins, we slowed down, I put in neutral and it stalled after a few seconds, so I tightened up the idle speed screw a little bit and it idles better now. My question is should the fast idle knob be left turned in all the way counterclockwise or not. Thanks.
