A used motor with no history needs a new waterpump for starters.

Do not know this motor and i am sure someone will answer in the correct area for you shortly. If the motor is used and you do not know its history then you need to change the impeller and thermostats if it has them and also the lower oil and possibly plugs. Do a compression check as well and you should be ready to roll if all is well.
Should really keep this in the Mercury forum though.

Glad it worked out for you but you should still change the cooling stuff so you know it will most likely not let you down unexpectedly.
