25 HP remote throttle controls

My boat is too small for steering console, so I use the tiller. It is a bit of a stretch to change gears, when coming into the dock, especially having to take my eyes off the docking process. I have the remote controls, for the motor, but of course they are very long cables. Is there a way to shorten the cables? That way I could mount the controls next to me and change gears/speed while keeping my eyes on what I'm doing.

Thanks..

No, they cannot be shortened. But they can be replaced. They are sold in one-foot increments, right down to pretty darn short. Not terribly expensive either. iboats has them.
