25 hp Tohatsu prop swap???

HI, i have a 25 hp tohatsu, not quite sure of the year..it didn't have a prop when i got it...i got a good deal on a SS prop that will fit a mercury, the guy said they will interchange with an adapter kit...does anybody know if this is true?? Or has anybody went through this theirself?? Maybe a part # for the adapter?? with the thick rubber washer on the motor the prop will not slide all the way on...with the washer off the prop rubs on the lower unit when spun...any help would be greatly appreciated!! I've tried the local shop here but they werent much help....Thanks again!!!

I checked prop section Michigan lists the same prop number for both with a different hub for each.So you may be able to find an adapter.
Solas doesn't list a merc prop does list tohatsu.
