i am looking at buyin a 25hp tohatsu its a mid 90's and it is electric start. it will run good at wide open throttle but after it warms up and runs once you get back to idle speeds its wants to bogg down and some times cuts off. once you crank it back up it will still run fine anywhere over half throttle. do you think the motor is worth buying? and do you have just a guess or two of what the problem maybe?

It could be : Dirty carb, fuel related problems, including gas hose, filter obstruction, diaphgram pump issues, plugs, prop hub slip. 11 years is a lot of time, check engine history if available to see what services has been performed on that engine. Start checking mechanical issues first, then electrical components.
