25 hp Yamaha hard start when warm

I have a 25 hp yamaha (2002) 4 stroke, after the motor has been running for some time, and you shut it down, it will then be hard to start the next time if it is still warm.
Also sometimes when you pull it, the cord will not pull, and locks up.
Any suggestions?

If motor is locking up you need to be looking at the pistons seizing in the cylinders or bearings on the crank locking up. But it could be just that the motor is not in neutral keeping you from pulling rope starter
