I have a 2002 25 Yamaha. Mine was doing the same thing, my service tech said that it was ok or normal. I cant remember why he said it was doing it, but you should be ok. Just to make sure, you may consult a professional. have a good one.

More than likely, you're see unburned 2-stroke oil that can especially build up if doing a lot of trolling...which is normal. We are talking about a 2-stroke???

Just check lower unit oil a couple of times each season to ensure lube is not milky or showing signs of water intrusion into the gearcase.
